Vinyl trimethoxysilane

Vinyl trimethoxysilane

Vinyltrimethoxysilane (VTMS, A-171, CAS:2768-02-7) is a vinyl-functional silane coupling agent, colorless transparent liquid. It contains free-radical reactive vinyl groups and hydrolyzable trimethoxy groups. Silanol can bond with inorganic substrates such as glass and mineral fillers, while vinyl groups can copolymerize or graft with double-bond containing resins including polyethylene, unsaturated polyester and acrylics. It acts both as coupling agent and crosslinker, greatly improving interfacial adhesion between fillers and polymers, enhancing mechanical strength, water resistance and weather resistance, widely applied in silane-crosslinked polyolefin systems.
