Vinyl triethoxysilane
Vinyltriethoxysilane (VTES, A-151, CAS:78-08-0) is a vinyl functional silane coupling agent, colorless transparent liquid. It contains free-radical reactive vinyl groups and three hydrolyzable ethoxy groups. Ethoxy groups hydrolyze moderately and have better storage stability than vinyltrimethoxysilane. The hydrolyzed silanol can bond with inorganic substrates such as glass and mineral fillers, while vinyl groups can copolymerize and crosslink with double-bond polymers including polyethylene, unsaturated polyester and acrylic resin. It improves interfacial compatibility between inorganic fillers and organic resins, enhances mechanical strength, water resistance and weather resistance of finished products, and can also be used as crosslinker for polyolefins.
