Y-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane

Y-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane

γ-Mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane (KH-590, A-189, CAS:4420-74-0) is thiol functional silane coupling agent, colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid. It contains reactive mercapto group (-SH) and hydrolyzable trimethoxy groups. The hydrolyzed silanol can bond with the surface of glass, silica powder, carbon black, metal oxides and other inorganic fillers, while mercapto groups can react with organic matrices such as rubber and epoxy resin with unsaturated bonds or epoxy groups. It greatly improves the dispersion and interfacial adhesion of inorganic fillers in rubber and resin systems, enhances mechanical strength, wear resistance and adhesion to metal substrates, widely used in rubber reinforcement, metal anti-corrosion and coating bonding.
