Hexamethyldisiloxane (MM) is a basic small-molecule siloxane, a colorless transparent volatile liquid with good chemical stability and low surface tension. It features excellent hydrophobicity and mold release performance. It is commonly used as an end-capping agent in organosilicon synthesis, as well as solvent, defoamer and cleaning agent.
