N-octyl trimethoxysilane

N-octyl trimethoxysilane

N-octyltrimethoxysilane is a long-chain alkylsilane, colorless transparent liquid. It contains n-octyl group and three hydrolyzable methoxy groups. Methoxy groups hydrolyze into silanol under moisture and bond with hydroxyl groups on inorganic materials. The long octyl chain endows substrates with excellent hydrophobic and antifouling properties. It is suitable for surface hydrophobic modification of inorganic powder and building materials, and has good compatibility with non-polar resins such as polyolefin.
