Dodecyltrimethoxysilane
Dodecyltrimethoxysilane is a long-chain alkylsilane, colorless transparent liquid. It contains dodecyl group and three hydrolyzable methoxy groups. Methoxy groups hydrolyze into silanol under moisture and chemically bond with hydroxyl groups on inorganic substrates. The long dodecyl carbon chain endows substrates with excellent hydrophobic, antifouling and release properties. It has outstanding compatibility with non-polar resins such as polyolefin, widely used for long-term waterproofing of building materials and surface modification of inorganic powders.
